"I want to build a career out of creating pretty things." Inspired by mixed-media collage, serigraphy, and graphic design - along with shiny objects, Lucite, vellum, sprinkles, spy cameras, bubble gum, light bulbs, confetti, scotch tape, origami, sparklers, juxtapositions, electric hues, black, white, electric blue. Bio: Moved out of hometown of Waco, Texas as soon as school would allow Accepted to the University of Texas in Austin..... Major: Undecided Applied to the school of Apparel Design after the first question that came upon introduction to peers continued to be: "So are you a fashion major?" Awarded a merit scholarship from the American Intercontinental University of London Fall 2004. Studied fashion in London for a semester at age 19 - would have stayed for life if it weren't for that whole issue of money... Awarded a student research grant by the University Co-op to be used for design supplies and expenses during the Fall 2005, Spring 2006 semesters Attended LA Fashion Week Fall 2005 - assisted Red Light PR and the designer Deborah Lindquist. Once the job was done, sneaking into fashion shows all day was a final perk. Created first mock-collection Fall 2005 in Fashion Illustration class - Company Name: PG-13 Completed flat-pattern lessons Spring '06 - won design award for mod scooter dress, featured in the fashion showroom during the Mosaic Spring Runway Show Recognized for mixed-media collage "Numb" - also featured in the Mosaic fashion showroom Completed draping lessons Fall '06 - won award for being one of the ten best draping students of the semester. Presented with a fabric scholarship for the following semester’s fashion show Spring 2007 "Preppy Bondage" Collection featured in Evolution Senior Fashion show - 50 designers featured with over 5,000 attendees. Preppy Bondage designs gained press from: The Daily Texan: Orange Runway Edition (interview and photo shoot) Currently living in London interning at the Luella design studio |
